Description:  Here is a photo from an article entitled "Review And Preview: 1956-1957." It was published originally in the May 1957 issue of "Pennsy" magazine, page 1. The photographer is not identified. Partial Caption: "The first two of this trio of EFS-17M's, hauling mixed freight into Enola, are among 83 diesel-electric units put into service by the PRR during 1956." Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #7085, #7050, and another GP-9 whose number is not recorded. All are EFS-17M's built by GM-EMD and rated at 1,750 horsepower each. #7085 and #7050 were both built in 1956: the former in November, the latter in October.

Description:  Here is the sixth of eight original photos that were taken by an unidentified photographer at the Pennsylvania Railroad's Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania, perhaps during 1957. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #7050, #7113, and another "Geep" whose number is not recorded. All are EFS-17M's built by GM-EMD and rated at 1,750 horsepower each; #7050 was built in October of 1956 while #7113 was outshopped in May of 1957. They are pushing a mixed-cargo freight train as it rounds the Curve on its way up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin and points West Also visible is PRR & Railway Express N-5 cabin car #5001.

Description:  Rainy. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 12 October 1965. Shown here (R to L) are PRR engines #9808 and #7050. Both were built by EMD. #9808 is an EF-15A built in 1951 and rated at 1,500 horsepower. #7050 is an EFS-17M built in 1956 and rated at 1,750 horsepower. They are pulling a 110-car westbound train of empty hopper cars under the 12th Street Bridge, through the Altoona Passenger Station, and up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin and points West. The caboose is #477202.
