PRR 7072, EFS-17M, 1964
Description:
Mid-Mountain. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train West of Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 20 June 1964. Shown here is PRR engine #7072, an EFS-17M built by EMD in 1956 and rated at 1,750 horsepower. It is pulling a single PRR hopper car: #181055. Perhaps this is some sort of test involving one of the new H-43 100-ton capacity hopper cars.

Title:
PRR 4273, EP-22, 1967
Description:
Mid-Mountain. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train West of Altoona, Pennsylvania, during mid-December of 1967. Shown here (R to L) are PRR engines #4273 and two other "E" units whose numbers were not recorded. All were built by EMD. #4273 is an EP-22 built in 1952. It has been re-numbered in preparation for the PRR-NYC merger; its original number was "5703." They are pulling a passenger train down the Allegheny Mountains via the Horseshoe Curve to Altoona and points East on a frigid, flurry-filled afternoon.

"Millie," 1967
Description:
Mid-Mountain. Here is an original photo that I took while photographing Pennsylvania Railroad trains on the mainline West of Altoona, Pennsylvania, during mid-December of 1967. Shown here is my pet dog "Millie," who's wearing her little blue coat to help keep her warm on such a cold Winter's day! This photo taken in the front seat of my 1959 Ford "Fairlane" 500.
