PRR 9797, EF-15A, 1966.
Mid-Mountain. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train West of Altoona, Pennsylvania, during mid-June of 1966. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engine #9797 and two other "B" units whose numbers were not recorded. All were built by EMD and rated at 1,500 horsepower each. #9797 is an EF-15A built in 1951. They are pulling a westbound mixed-cargo freight train up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin and points West.
