Description:  Huntingdon. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train East of Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, during October of 1965. Shown here is PRR engine #2428, an AF-25 built by the American Locomotive Company in 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. Along with two other locomotives, it is pulling an eastbound mixed-cargo freight train down the Juniata River Valley. A long stretch of US Route 22 is visible on the right.

Shown here is the PRR's Crossing Gate Tower that protects the grade crossing for Huntingdon's 4th Street, just before the Juniata River Bridge. It is co-located at the Passenger Station that serves not only the PRR, but also the Huntingdon Broad Top Mountain Railroad. The clock tower on the Huntingdon County Court House is also visible on the right.

All were built by EMD. #2250 is an EF-22 built in 1963 and rated at 2,250 horsepower. #2272 is an EF-25 built in 1964 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. They are pulling a westbound mixed-cargo freight train through the Huntingdon Station after crossing 4th Street. More of the train is visible in the distance as it snakes around the "S" curve just East of the Station.

It is running light through the Huntingdon Station, and is about to cross 4th Street under the watchful eyes of the Crossing Gate operator.
