Here is a postal card that could be entitled "Pennsylvania 4879." No Postmark. Partial Caption On Reverse: "Electric locomotive number 4879, s GG-1, at the headend of a crack passenger train ready to depart Pennsylvania Station, New York." Photo Credit: William J. Brennan. PRR engine #4879 is a GG-1 (2-C-C-2) electric built in Juniata during February of 1939, rated at 4,620 horsepower, and presently on display at the United Railway Historical Society in Boonton, New Jersey. Partially visible above the tracks and catenary is New York City's Main Post Office; in the right distance is the top of the Empire State Building.
