Originally built as Illinois Central 2-8-2 #1929 by Lima Locomotive Works in October of 1923, it was later rebuilt and renumbered by the IC shops first to IC #1514 in January of 1944 and then to IC #1814 in November of 1949 as seen here. The loco lasted a few years more before being sold for scrap in May of 1955. Rebuild specs - 63.5" drivers, 225 psi boiler pressure, 27x30" cylinders, engine weight of 308,500 lb, tractive effort of 65,868 lb. No photographer was listed for the photo. |
