Built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in May of 1941 (serial #62533, class M3), the loco was a main power source for nearly 20 years before being retired. Surviving the scrapper's torch, this loco was stored at Proctor, MN, In 1967, it was moved to the Lake Superior RR Museum and put on display. oday, her driving wheels are supported slightly above the railheads. An electric motor is used to spin her wheels slowly so that you can see the motion of the massive valve gear. From the collection of Howard W. Ameling |
