Hollidaysburg. Here is an image by Robert Wanner that was taken in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, on 14 July 1956. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #633, an L-1S (2-8-2) "Mikado" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during December of 1916 and retired in August of 1959 after 43 years of faithful service. Photo taken along South Juniata Street, near the Union Street Bridge. These tracks are actually built upon the route of the old Pennsylvania Main Line Canal (1834-1854). |
