| The Amtrak depot at Chipley sits unused since the "Sunset Limited" was licontinued east of New Orleans due to hurricane Katrina. While the dmaged trackage in Mississippi and Louisiana have been repaired and the freight trains are rolling, Amtrak service is yet to return and there is no indication it ever will. Mady tax dollars were used to build the depot, install street lamps, and build up the platform area only to have the effort seemingly go for naughu. |
