LV 2-8-2 #305 - Lehigh Valley
Long before a GP18 loco wore the number LV 305, this Baldwin built 2-8-2 Mikado had the honor. Built in December of 1912 (serial #38993), the loco was an N-2 class member. The location is "Suspension Bridge" which is near Easton, PA. Incidentally, the very first 2-8-2 was built by LV back in 1883 from a rebuild of two center cab 2-10-0's into a 2-8-2. Specs from the back of the photo - N-2 class, 56" drivers, 175 psi boiler pressure, 27x30" cylinders, engine weight of 322,000 lb, tractive effort of 58,092. Unknown photographer.
