R2W. Here is the tenth of 13 original photos that I took while riding in an Amtrak passenger train from Rye (NY) to Washington (DC) on 26 July 1987. Shown here (R to F) are a portion of the Borough of Queens, the central portion of the Whitestone Bridge, as well as a tugboat pulling a barge loaded with containerized shipments negotiating the turgid waters of Hell Gate. Photo taken while crossing the Hell Gate Bridge, which was opened on 28 March 1917. |
