The Hannibal Connecting RR operated a rock-hauling operation for the Atlas Portland Cement Company from 1902 to 1966. The road's engine house still stands and is used as a maintenance facility for current operations. The HC connected with the CB&Q at Ilasco and, for a period, had its own tracks up to Hannibal. Although it preferred 0-6-0Ts in the steam era, its final power was a pair of Alco S1s and two Whitcomb centercabs. |
