| Skidmore MO is a small Nodaway County farm town of about 400 souls in northwest Missouri. This quiet little place made national news twice in the last 20 years as the site of a pair of stunning murders. Rail wise it laid on one of the Burlington Route's web of branches throughout northern Missouri and southern Iowa. The "Q" line north of town towards the Hawkeye State was abandoned in 1955, the portion south came up through Maitland in 1977 under the BN. Now all that remains is the depot and signs of the old right-of-way. |
