Description:  This map of the Rapid Transit and Regional Rail systems from 1984 still stands on the Lenni station platform. A closer look reveals service to West Chester and Newtown is still in effect, although Newtown branch trains would have a bus substitute by this point. The familiar R numbering system for the rail lines is not in effect on this map.

Gambler's Express
Title:  Gambler's Express
Description:  In 1989, Amtrak restored passenger service along the old PRSL route to Atlantic City, NJ to provide travelers from around the country with direct access to the gambling mecca. The service only lasted for a few years before Amtrak pulled out in 1992 due to loss of business. However it has since come back as a partner along with NJ Transit and three casinos in the new ACES service between New York and Atlantic City. NJ Transit still provides passenger service in addition to ACES between AC and 30th Street station in Philadelphia.

Description:  Advertising for the X-2000 Swedish high speed train set that Amtrak tested in the 1990s as a way to get high speed passenger service on the Northeast Corridor. After testing both this and a German ICE trainset, Amtrak decided on a design similar to the ICE that would become today's Acela Express.

Traction Line
Title:  Traction Line
Description:  The Morris County Traction Line once ran trolleys on its own right of way alongside the DL&W Morristown Line between Madison and Morristown. The line was abandoned in the 1930s and was converted to a rail trail in the 1980s. This scene is looking east at the Convent Road grade crossing next to the College of Saint Elizabeth and the Convent station. NJ Transit operates the old Lackawanna line seen to the right of the trail.
