Title:  NP 4-6-2 #2156 - Northern Pacific
Description:  Northern Pacific #2156 is a Baldwin 4-6-2 Pacific type steam locomotive built in March of 1909. It served the NP well in both passenger and freight service until being donated to the city of St Paul and displayed at Como Park until 1980. The Minnesota Transportation Museum undertook the extensive restoration of #2156 in 1980. Unfortunately, the restoration has stalled and now sits in the shop area of the roundhouse.

Description:  Although the restoration has stalled, the loco is still in a safer place than most 4-6-2 locos. Only four of the over 200 Northern Pacific 4-6-2 have survived being sent to the scrapper's torch. Maybe someday, we will see this loco and its sister #2153 in their full glory!
