Description:  Here is an image of the second of two successive photos by Edward Kaspriske that were taken near Summerdale, Pennsylvania, in 1955. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #305 and #4767. #305 is an L-1S (2-8-2) "Mikado" built in Juniata during April of 1917 and retired in January of 1960. #4767 is a P-5A (2-C-2) electric built by General Electric in October of 1932 and retired in December of 1961. In this context, #305 is pulling a mixed-cargo freight train and will soon enter the Enola Yards. Note the "Geep" lurking behind the "Mikado." Edward Kaspriske Collection.

Description:  SFM. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione that was taken in Summerdale, Pennsylvania, during 1956. The photographer is not identified. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #305 and #1343. Both are L-1S (2-8-2) "Mikados." #305 was built in Juniata during April of 1917 and retired in January of 1960, while #1343 was built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during February of 1916 and retired in April of 1958. They are nose-to-nose, and appear to be pulling a mixed-cargo freight train into the Enola Yards. Beyond them are an outbound freight train (moving from right to left), the Susquehanna River (flowing from left to right), and David's Mountain standing in the distance. Note the Dude in the Doghouse!

Description:  TRB. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by Fred Kern that was taken near Rockville, Pennsylvania, on 1 January 1957. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #305 and a "Mountain" Class locomotive whose road number is not recorded. #305 is an L-1S (2-8-2) "Mikado" built in Juniata during April of 1917 and retired in January of 1960 after 43 years of service. The "Mikado" is about to couple onto the "Mountain," and help pull a freight train across the Susquehanna River Bridge and into the Enola Yards.
