Both are EP-20's built by GM-EMD and rated at 2,000 horsepower each. #5844 was built in August of 1947. In this context, this A-B set is pulling a passenger train down the Allegheny Mountains and around the Horseshoe Curve to Altoona and points East. This image comes from a B&W slide set entitled "Horseshoe Curve, Pennsylvania Railroad" that's produced and distributed by Blackhawk Films of Davenport, Iowa. William E. Burket Collection. |
