Byerly. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by J. David Ingles that was taken in Detroit, Michigan, in June of 1961. Photo Caption: "Baldwin RF-16 #2002, 1600-hp, at Detroit, Mich." Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #2022 and #9576. Both were built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works. #2022 is a BF-16 built in March of 1952, rated at 1,600 horsepower, and retired in January of 1967. #9576 is a BF-15 built in March of 1949, rated at 1,500 horsepower, and retired in December of 1963. This photo comes from a color slide set entitled "Diesels On The Pennsylvania" that's produced and distributed by Blackhawk Films of Davenport, Iowa (819-25). |

7th Street. Here is an original photo that I took of Pennsylvania Railroad trains in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 08 March 1964. Shown here is PRR engine #2022, a BF-15 built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1952 and rated at 1,600 horsepower. It and two other Baldwin "Sharks" are pulling an eastbound freighw train under the 7th Street Bridge into the Altoona Yards. Visible bekind it are portions of PRR engines #7070 and #9766-B, which are waiting for orders to proceed with a westbound mixed-cargo freight train. |
