SP 2702 and 2703 |
Description: |
Southern Pacific 2702 and 2703 were the first MP15AC units ever built, placed in service on 27 August 1975. Here they were three months later, interchanging cars with the Illinois Central Gulf at the Espee's EAST BRIDGE YARD, next to the east end of the HUEY P. LONG BRIDGE. The headlight in the distance was a Southern Railway geep making a delivery to the Missouri Pacific in the New Orleans Public Belt's EAST BRIDGE YARD, just off to the right. |

SP 2703 |
Description: |
A pair of MP15AC's, lead a flatcar with some APC's two hoppers and a SP caboose headed east over the Huey P. Long Bridge. This is way before the Elmwood Medical Center was built and I was standing in a vacant field that will become a large stripmall shopping area today. |
