Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad 4-4-2 Class P-2 1580, Paterson, New Jersey, sometime in 1903, photo by the Rogers Locomotive Works, Chuck Zeiler collection. Rogers built 25 class P-2 4-4-2 locomotives for the Burlington System between 1902-1903, CB&Q road #'s 1576-1583, B&MR road #'s 3700-3709, StLK&NW road #'s 780-785, and H&StJ road #'s 690-691. All were renumbered during 1904 to the 2520-2544 series, this one becoming #2524. Although many P-2's were rebuilt to class P-6-A, this one was not rebuilt. It was retired during January 1932. |
