Description:  Here is a photo by an unidentified photographer that was taken near Stemmer's Run, Maryland, in March of 1951. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6847, an M-1 (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during September of 1926 and retired in May of 1957 after 31 years of faithful service. Description:  Here is an original photo by Douglas C. Jones that was taken just East of the Coaling Tipple in East Altoona, Pennsylvania, c. 1957. Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6847, an M-1 (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during September of 1926 and retired in May of 1957. After having been turned around on the East Altoona Turntable, it's now heading back toward the Tipple and the East Altoona Roundhouse. Partially visible at the left is engine #6831, an M-1 (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by Baldwin in September of 1926 and retired in August of 1955.

In the center ~ taking a spin on the East Altoona Turntable ~ is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6847, an M-1 (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during September of 1926 and retired in May of 1957. Visible at the left is the front end of engine #6831, an M-1 (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by Baldwin in September of 1926 and retired in August of 1955. The shadow in the foreground is cast by the massive Tipple.
