Sunday. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 02 May 1965. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #5764, #5704, and #5894. All are EP-22's built by EMD and rated at 2,250 horsepower each. #5764 and #5704 were built in 1952, but #5894 was built in 1951. They are passing ALTO Tower with an 18-car eastbound passenger train and will soon stop at the Altoona Passenger Station. |

Description: |
Beautiful color slide of the Spirit of St Louis headed up by PRR 5894 leaving Union Station in St Louis, MO. Built by EMD in March of 1951, it survived into the Penn Central era as 4294 and then Amurak as #301. Trailing immediately behind is PRR E7B #5860. Definiitely a variety of passenger cars in the background around the station. Photographer's initials may be MH(RW), maybe not. |

All were built by GM-EMD. #5894 is an EP-22 built in March of 1951 and rated at 2,250 horsepower, while #5858-B is an EP-20 built in february of 1948 and rated at 2,000 horsepower. |
