GM&O GP35 635 |
Description: |
Gulf Mobile & Ohio GP35 635 was in the railroad’s CANAL YARD in New Orleans. The locomotive, along with GP30 522, had come in on train No. 33 and would go back out that evening on No. 32. It was assigned Illinois Central Gulf number 2533 in 1972, but was sold to the Paducah & Louisville in August 1986, before ever receiving its ICG number. The PAL subsequently transferred the unit to its subsidiary VMV Enterprises. (approximate date of photo) |

Date and location are unknown, but it's after the merger sandwiched between two IC units. The black GP7 behind and not yet badly rusted 635 would indicate shortly after 9/72 merger. |
