PRR 5793, EP-22, #2 of 2, 1952 Editors Pick!
Oil Power. Here is the second of two duplicate 35mm color slides of photos by Don Flynn that were taken near Lakeville, Indiana, on 11 October 1952. Prominent here (R to L) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5793 and another unit whose number is not recorded. Both are EP-22's built by GM-EMD and rated at 2,250 horsepower each. #5793 was built in June of 1952. In this context, they're pulling a "Football Special." Note that the first car in the train is an observation car!
