SHARP & FELLOWS  Contributor's Pick!
Built by the Dickson Works subsidiary of ALCO in Scranton PA in 1902 as a 2-6-0 "Mogul" for Minnesota Land & Construction, #7 was then sold to Sharp Construction Company, who added a two-wheel trailing truck to turn it into a "Prairie." During the WWI, #7 served at Camp Kearney, San Diego, and during WWII it worked at Defense Ordnance at Fort Wingate, NM and the Navajo Ordnance Plant at Flagstaff, AZ. Sharp & Fellows, which dates back to 1877, is still a railroad contractor today. They donated this unit to the LA County Parks in 1954.
