The freshly re-painted 1739 sits on the wye at Guthrie. One of the lines tunnel motors is barely visible in the open stall of the enginehouse. These were purchased to power unit trains of alluminum between Logan Alumminum in Russellville and another location in eastern Kentucky. The six-axle power is very on this end of the line and cannot run south to Clarksville due to weight restrictions on the Red River and Cumberland River bridges. |
