Looks like a salt transloader...here in PA we have one that looks just like that, and the salt is brought in the same CLSX salt hoppers...

Thanks Brian, that makes sense. There are only two shippers on this line, Cargill Salt, and NYSEG, a coal-burning power plant.

That's the unloding conveyor for Wallace Coal. They used to get cuts of 17 carsloads. IIRC it was coal for Cornell powerplant after the old DL&W was torn up going up the hill from the yard.

Think that is used to unload coal into trucks for Cornell University, which was still using coal heating equipment at least to the 90s, per Tom Beckett's comment above on one of his shots.
