Those orange locos are EMD model G12C, built in Australia. They spent some time stored in New Zealand before being shipped to Mount Vernon where they have been stored ever since. I'm waiting to see what NRE do with these beasts. They have 9 all up, some originating from Westrail, some from Queensland Rail and others from Tranz Rail

1501 never went to NRE or Mt Vernon. The loco in the photo is 1504.
