This had been the north end of the Southern Pacific's MIDLAND BRANCH in Eunice, Louisiana; but the track here had been abandoned in 1978, and up until 1935 the SP continued north of here nine miles to Mamou. At one time Eunice was also served by the Rock Island and the T&P, but the only railroads here now are the Union Pacific's former MP-GCL-Frisco main line and the Acadiana Railway's former MP-GCL-Frisco branch south to Crowley. |
