Johnie Stafford	General	An interesting note about this bridge. In the early days of the Louisiana & Delta Railroad, this bridge had to be operated to service the rice mill farther down the line in Kaplan, LA. The L&D 1751 (GP9) was seen to have a bicycle hanging from the side rails. This was needed so that the train crew could ride over to the highway bridge to get to the control shack across the river.	10/21/2012 6:04:15 PM
