Note the steam generator vents on top of the short hood. The diamonds are with the EJ&E. Interchange cars can be seen above the last coach. My notes read "The Varsity?". Can anyone confirm? Note the shaddows indicate mid-afternoon. Hilary Kokosinski General Cars are on 6 track for eastward pick up. Looks like Hough loads out of Libertyville. 4/15/2008 10:47:51 AM
Jim Becker General It looks to be a Fox Lake bound commuter train 1/3/2010 11:28:46 AM
Marty Bernard General I don't think so because by then they had gallery cars which would have been used on all commuters. 1/3/2010 11:42:01 AM
Lloyd Wallenslager General While they had gallery cars by this time, the passenger GP9's and heavy weight passenger cars were only in commuter service, so likely a Fox Lake bound commuter train. Also, The Varsity would go through here about 10:00 am, putting the sun on the engineer's side 1/22/2017 5:26:45 PM
