PRR Allegheny Vistas, #4 of 4, c. 1953
Harvey. Here is the fourth of four photos by Wayne P. Ellis via Rail Photo Service that were taken about 1953. Shown here (L to R) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9430 and another unit whose road number is not recorded. Both were built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works. #9430 is a BS-10AM constructed in May of 1950 and rated at 1,000 horsepower. In this context, they're rockin' 'n' rollin' somewhere in the Allegheny Mountains of Western Pennsylvania.
