For the 7th nonconsecutive year, Dad and I were up on the Chicago Line for Labor Day. We always begin our day in Goshen, as Dad likes to attend the Labor Day Toy Tractor Show at the Elkhart County Fairgrounds before we spend the remainder of the day watching trains. While he goes and browses, I stay put by the tracks at Monroe Street and watch the trains roll by. This year, when we arrived, a CP train was already going through, but as soon as Dad left me at the tracks, NS 22X rolled by with a fresh rebuild on the point to start the day. |
