Here is a photo by an unidentified photographer that was taken in Oyster Bay, New York, in 1935. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #4176, an E-3SD (4-4-2) "Atlantic" built in Juniata as an E-3D during August of 1907, rebuilt as an E-3SD in May of 1913, and retired in December of 1945 after 38 years of faithful service. In this context, it's assigned to the Long Island Rail Road. Gary Mittner Collection. |
