Nice action shot of Canadian National 4-6-0 #1130 heading up a passenger train at Barlow Junction in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Built by the Montreal Locomotive Works in 1912 originally as Canadian Northern 4-6-0 #1130, it was renumbered CN 1130 in 1919 after the railroad mergers were complete. The loco served in both passenger and freight service for nearly 42 years before the scrapper's torch ended its life in August of 1954. Original specs - class G-16-1, 57" drivers, 180 psi boiler pressure, 20"x26" cylinders, engine weight of 154,000 lb. and tractive effort of 25,768 lb. No photographer was listed for this photo. |
