Long before a diesel carried the CN #2690, this 2-8-0 Consolidation had the honor. Built by the Montreal Locomotive Works (Alco) in August of 1911 as Grand Trunk Pacific (GTP) #813, it was renumbered in 1919 to CN #2690 after the railroad mergers. After nearly 49 years of service, it was scrapped in May of 1960. This is a Ray Deshenes photo. No date or location was given for the photo. |
