This is the first 4-6-4 Hudson built by the Montreal Locomotive Works for the Canadian Pacific Railwy in November of 1929. Numbered CP 2800, the loco served well for nearly 29 years before being retired and scrapped in April of 1958. Note the "elephant ear" smoke detectors on this loco - most were removed later. Specs - class H1A, 75" drivers, 22x30" cylinders, engine wt 351,200 lb, tractive effort of 45,254. No date or location was given so approximates were used. This is a James E Platt photo. |
