Built by the Milwaukee Shops in 1913 as CMStP 2-8-0 Consolidation #7249, it was renumbered first in 1927 to CMStP&P #7249 and later in 1938 to MILW 1249. The entire C5 class was retired between 1945-54. Since the bell is already missing on the loco, it appears its sitting in the scrap line now. Specs - 63" drivers, 185 psi boiler pressure, 24x30" cylinders, engine wt of 224,000lb, tractive effort of 43,130 lb. Unfortunately, no photograher was listed for the photo. |
