| Long before an SD unit used the MILW number 519, this Baldwin 2-8-2 Mikado had the honor. Originally built as MILW 8219 in October of 1920, it was renumbered in June of 1938 to MILW 519. After nearly 33 years of service, the loco was retired in June of 1953 and eventually scrapped. Specs - 63" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 26x30" cylinders, engine wt of 287,600 lb, tractive effort of 54,723 lb. No photographer was listed. |
