AHC. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide that was taken at the Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania, c. 1964. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #2004 and #9714. Both were built by Baldwin-Lima-Hamilton and rated at 1,600 horsepower. #2004 was constructed in July of 1951 and retied in July of 1966, while #9714 was built in January of 1951 and also retired in July of 1966. In this context, they're pulling a mixed-cargo freight train around the Curve and down the Allegheny Mountains to Altoona and points East. The photographer's name and the exact date are not recorded.
