| Here we see the train coming over the Ouachita River and Highway 7 just north of the town of Arkadelphia with UP 844 Pulling the South Central Express Heritage Tour 2006 as UP Train SMRNL 24. Engineer Steve Lee had just cracked the throttle on UP's FEF-3 Class 4-8-4 Northern "Living Legend" and the smoke rolled with the whole train in view. They also let off some water on an open convertable on the highway. My friend, Alex recorded an awesome video of it (and later nearly taped over it) and my dad watched. The other two fans took stills like I did. With highs in the mid 90s today and lots of sun, this was a great day to chase big steam through the Natural State! |
