| This tiny office and portable building provided the accomodations at the Missouri Pacific yard in New Iberia. The MP received permission from the ICC to abandon this branch on 21 July 1982, the last MP train left New Iberia for the mainline connection at Port Barre on the afternoon of 27 August, and all MP operations here ceased at 5 P.M. on 28 August. This yard and a few miles of track were acquired by the Espee, and now belong to the Louisiana & Delta. Thats a sugar mill across the street. |
