Here is a photo by an unidentified photographer that was taken in Morris Park, New York, on 20 October 1935. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #539, a B-8 (0-6-0) switcher built in Juniata during May of 1907 and retired in April of 1949 after 42 years of faithful service. In this Long Island Rail Road scene, note the electrified third-rail at the bottom left and the unique smoke collectors at the top right. Williams Collection. |
