Sitting in an unidentified yard in the Chicago area is CNW 4-6-2 Pacific #610. Built by Alco-Schenectady in October of 1916 as CNW #1610, it was later rebuilt in March of 1941 with added stoker and an increased psi and tractive effort. In 1952, the loco was renumbered to just CNW 610. No final disposition date was found. Rebuilt specs - serial #56229, class E, 75" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 25x28" cylinders, engine wt of 263,500 lb, tractive effort of 39,600 lb. No photographer was listed for the photo. |
