On a very snowy afternoon, PO-3 made a rare move to pick up a string of 20 hoppers that Midcoast Railservice had brought down the day before, going about a quarter of a mile up the former Maine Central Augusta Lower road. In my time living in Brunswick I've seen plenty of times where cars are left at Rock Jct. on this track, but rarely do they reach the Jordan Ave. bridge, and this was my first time seeing power over it. The cars had been left just past the bridge. When PO-3 returns to the interchange yard they will grab another five cars then continue west back to Rigby Yard. They also delivered close to fifteen empty cement hoppers for Midcoast, on the east end of the interchange track. |
