A FV&LS (or FOXY) train passes the joint Agropur and Midland Paper facility as it heads northwest via former CN, historically C&NW, rails at Town of Grand Chute, Outagamie Co., WI, on 13 Nov. '22. It is neat to find a former C&NW locomotive plying former C&NW rails. This was formerly U.S. Paper Converters, until they closed in 2017, eliminating 52-56 jobs, depending on the reference. It appears the facility has been subdivided. The entrance on the east side, 4808 W. Converters Dr., is occupied by Agropur/WOW Logistics. The entrance on the north side, 4826 W. Converters Dr., is occupied by Midland Paper. I'm not sure which occupant receives rail service; it's possible that they both do. I thought this train was going to stop and spot their boxcar here, but they did not. |
