| Here is another view of the former Wabash 2-10-2 #2515 after the sale to the Chicago & Illinois Midland via the railroad brokerage firm Georgia Car & Locomotive Company. Built by ALCo-Brooks in July of 1917 (serial #57571, it was an excellent loco well suited for long drags of cars through Illinois. The loco was finally retired in January of 1953. Specs - G-4 class, 64" drivers, 210 psi boiler pressure, 29x32" cylinders, engine weight of 395,000 lb, tractive effort of 75,079 lb. The photographer was Arthur B. Johnson. |
