Early photo of the Canadian National 4-8-2 Mountain type steam locomotive built by the Canadian Locomotive Company in June of 1923. A note on the back of the photo states - "Rare photo - as built". CN #6002 (serial #1698) served well for nearly 37 years before being scrapped in April of 1960. Specs - 73" drivers, 210 spi boiler pressure, 26x30" cylinders, engine weight of 354,300 lb, tractive effort of 49,589 lb. Dick George photo |
