Built by Lima Locomotive Works in March of 1921 originally as Illinois Central 2-10-2 #2939, the loco was rebuilt in October of 1944 by the IC shops and renumbered IC 2808. After nearly 38 years of service, it was retired in December of 1959. Rebult specs - 64.5" drivers, impressive 275 psi boiler pressure with a new boiler, 30x32" cylinders, engine weight of 416,000 lb, and impressive tractive effort of 110,512 lb.
