Built by Lima in September of 1937 (serial #7748, class N), PM 2-8-4 Berkshire #1212 served the Pere Marquette Railway and then slid over to the C&O roster as CO 2696 in 1947. It lasted until being scrapped in April of 1953. Final specs - 70" drivers (upgraded from 69" in 1946), impressive 245 psi boiler pressure, 26x34" cylinders, engine weight of 445,500 lb, tractive effort of 69,350 lb, with booster adding 14,400 lb.
